Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 10, 2026
This policy explains what data is (and isn’t) collected when you use the Cue macOS app (“the App”) and the website cue.mavor.app (“the Site”), operated by Mavor Apps (“we”, “us”).
1. Data in the App
What stays on your Mac
- Meeting audio, transcripts, and translations. Live meeting transcription and translation run entirely on-device using Apple’s Speech and Translation frameworks — zero network requests. Audio is processed in memory; transcripts and Live Notes are saved as local files in folders you choose. Optional speaker labeling also runs fully on-device.
- Selected text and conversations. The text you highlight and your conversation history live only in the App while you use them.
-
Settings, skills, glossary, and API keys.
Stored as local JSON under
~/Library/Application Support/Cue/— including any API keys you add for the bring-your-own-key backend, which are only ever sent to the endpoint you configured. You can delete this folder at any time to erase everything the App has stored.
We have no access to any of this data. It is never uploaded to us — we don’t operate any servers that could receive it.
What leaves your Mac, and only when you choose
-
Selection skills → your own AI backend.
When you click a skill, the selected text and your
follow-up messages are passed to the AI backend you
chose in Settings. By default that is the AI
command-line tool installed and signed in on your Mac
(e.g. the
claudeorcodexCLI), which sends the content to its AI provider under your account, governed by that provider’s privacy policy (e.g. Anthropic or OpenAI). Mavor Apps is not a party to that exchange and never sees the content. - Bring your own key (optional). If you instead configure an OpenAI-compatible API endpoint with your own API key, Cue sends the selected text and conversation directly to that endpoint over HTTPS, authenticated with your key and governed by that provider’s privacy policy. You choose the provider, the model, and the key; Cue talks only to the endpoint you entered, and never routes the content through us.
- AI meeting summaries (opt-in). Only if you enable summaries does Cue hand the finished transcript to your chosen AI backend, exactly as above. Off by default.
- License activation → Lemon Squeezy. When you activate, validate, or deactivate a Pro license, the App sends your license key and your Mac’s device name (as the activation instance name) to Lemon Squeezy’s license API over HTTPS. Lemon Squeezy returns the license status and the purchase email, which the App stores locally to display in Settings. A saved license is re-checked at most about once a week; the App works offline in between.
The App’s built-in MCP server (for connecting your own AI
agents to Live Notes) is off by default and, when enabled,
binds to 127.0.0.1 only — it is never
reachable from outside your Mac.
What the App never does
- No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting.
- No advertising or tracking of any kind.
- No account, sign-up, or cloud sync.
- No selling or sharing of personal data — we couldn’t even if we wanted to, because we don’t have it.
2. Purchases
Cue Pro is sold through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. When you buy a license, Lemon Squeezy collects the information needed to process the order — such as your name, email address, billing country, and payment details — under the Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy. We never see or store your payment card details. We can access order records (name, email, order status) in the Lemon Squeezy dashboard, which we use solely to provide support, deliver license keys, and process refunds.
3. Data on the website
The Site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages visited, approximate region, browser type). Google Analytics may set cookies and collects data as described in Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking analytics scripts in your browser. The Site sets no other cookies and shows no ads.
4. Email
If you email [email protected], we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to help you and to keep a record of support history. We don’t add you to any mailing list.
5. Data retention and deletion
-
App data is yours and lives on your
Mac — delete your notes folders and
~/Library/Application Support/Cue/and it is gone. - Order data is retained by Lemon Squeezy as required for tax and accounting purposes.
- To exercise privacy rights over data we or Lemon Squeezy hold about your purchase (access, correction, deletion), email [email protected] and we will help, subject to legal retention obligations.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because the only personal data connected to us is your purchase record, such requests are usually quick — just email us.
7. Children
Cue is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date above reflects the current version. If a future version of the App ever changes what data leaves your Mac, we will update this policy and call it out in the release notes.
